This should answer some questions you may have about me.
:: What do you do? ::
I'm a copywriter. It's a cool way of saying I write everything from
brochures, radio and television scripts, print advertisements,
online ads, e-mails and web page content, direct mail pieces, blogs,
billboards, sales letters, white papers and tag lines. I love what I
do, that's why I do it.
I also have a variety of interests like: manscaping, laser pointers,
gumdrops, playing with guinea pigs and achieving world domination
with my Facebook and MySpace accounts.
:: Do you write SEO content? ::
Yes, yes I do.
:: What is SEO? ::
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) helps increase the volume and
quality of your clients traffic by incorporating keywords and key
phrases within your web site content to generate "organic" hits..
I also write those little ads that appear on the right side of
search engine results, known as Search Engine Marketing (SEM) or Pay
Per Click advertising (PPC).
I write effective meta tags, title tags and descriptions as well. I
even have an understanding of HTML.
:: Can I Google you? ::
Yes, but I'm a bit ticklish.Try going directly to

:: How did you become a copywriter? ::
It wasn't easy. In fact, it was pretty difficult but here are the
steps I took to become a copywriter:
1. I went to college. After 7 years of hard work, I received my BA
in Communications.
2. While in college, I landed an exciting internship at a Hispanic
ad agency where I learned a lot more about advertising than I ever
did in college. (No, I'm not a bilingual copywriter).
3. After college I enrolled into a portfolio school, The Book Shop
to create my portfolio. It took me 2 years because I still wasn’t
sure if I wanted to be an art director or a copywriter.
4. I built a website and emailed a TON of ad agencies and
headhunters saying that I was a junior copywriter looking for work
and sent them a link to my online portfolio.
5. With a portfolio full of spec work I had enough work to land a
couple of freelance gigs.
6. Finally, with some real life ad agency experience, I got my first
full-time copywriting job. It was a great feeling knowing that I
finally made it. To me it was like winning the lottery.
Your journey into copywriting will be a tough one. No matter how
good you are or how many awards you have won your work is
subjective. Some people will love it, some will hate it but in the
end it has to be better than the other 100 copywriters looking to
get the same job.
